Role Overview Stoel Rives LLP seeks a junior associate to join the Health Care Group in its Portland or Seattle office. Candidates must have experience in the health care industry, or transactional and/or regulatory experience involving health care clients. Skills Needed to Be Effective in This Role

Health care transactions (strategic affiliations and mergers and acquisitions) and provider contracting;
Health care regulation including any of the following: Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, Stark, anti-kickback, HIPAA, medical staff, fraud and abuse, and managed care contracting;
Advising hospitals and health systems, physicians and physician organizations, behavioral health providers, pharmacies, managed care companies, federally qualified health centers, medical device manufacturers and distributors, or other health care industry vendors regarding regulatory compliance.
Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to understand how a project serves clients goals;
A commitment to client service and team success;
JD from an accredited university; and
Membership in the Oregon or Washington State Bar strongly preferred.
What You Will Learn as Part of Our Team Shortly after joining the team, you will have the opportunity to assist clients in responding to government investigations and audits, revise and negotiate contracts between payers and providers, and research and advise clients regarding applicable safe harbors to protect from anti-kickback statute enforcement, work on various privacy matters involving HIPAA and applicable state laws. Over time, we hope to help you hone your skills and capabilities and grow into an area of expertise that will differentiate you within the marketplace and our group, turning you into a subject matter expert.
