The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill a civil service exempt position as the Presiding Officer in the Hearings Unit, located in our Tumwater office.
As the Presiding Officer, you will serve as the Insurance Commissioner's designee to issue final orders in adjudicative proceedings and to review initial orders presented by the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). This position also provides legal, legislative, and policy support to the Commissioner. This position will be paid hourly, as we anticipate it will require the incumbent to work between 30-40 hours per week. The schedule will depend on workload and agency need. Salary rate will depend on qualifications (up to $49.61 per hour) and is retirement and benefits eligible.
All staff employed by the OIC must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
